He was born on August 13, 1945, to the late Alicia Wilmot and Sam Wilmot Jr. in Corpus Christi. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Beatrice; two daughters: Rosanne (Tomas) and Diane (George); three sisters: Wilma (Oscar) Martinez, Wendy Wilmot, Wenzie (Joe Henry) Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren: Nicholas (Valerie) Hinojosa, Imogen-Blue Hinojosa, Raven Moreno, Savannah (Abdiel) Zapata, Fernando Moreno, Karalynne Moreno, Alexandria Moreno, Tomas (Marisol) Moreno, Obed Moreno, Phillip Hernandez, and Ema Hernandez; and great-grandchildren: Derek Hinojosa, Zaelah Hinojosa, and Trevor Hinojosa.

He is preceded by his parents-Alicia and Sam Wilmot, his brother- Wesley Sam Wilmot, and his sister - Amelia Vela.

Alex was a man who knew how to make you laugh with his witty jokes and one-of-a-kind personality. He loved his Dallas Cowboys even on days they lost, tacos-especially Serrano's, and being on the water fishing. Still, most of all, he loved his family and was so proud of the people they had become. His grandchildren adored whom they got to call "Popo" and loved playing around with him. His friends and family shared many laughs and tokens of advice given to those around him- he always told his grandchildren- "don't take any wooden nickels." His family knows he is being welcomed by loved ones in Heaven, most likely with tacos in hand. All his family and friends will deeply miss him.
