Consuelo R. Flores

Consuelo Ramirez Flores, age 93, passed away on September 6, 2022. She was born on December 3, 1928 in Mcfaddin, Texas to parents Solomon Ramirez and Antonia Perez Ramirez. Her mother Antonia, sadly died during delivery childbirth and was subsequently raised by her stepmother Rebecca Ramirez throughout her early childhood.
Our mother Consuelo, married at the young age of 18, our father Higinio Flores Jr. In the early years of marriage work was difficult to find in the Victoria/Goliad area and my parents moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1947 whereby my father was employed by Reynolds American smelting plant where he worked his entire life to support his growing family. Our mother Consuelo, loved her family and dedicated her entire life to rearing them in the catholic faith at the local church on Main drive Our lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
She is preceded is death by her parents, Solomon and Rebecca Ramirez, husband, Higinio Flores Jr., son, Ismael Flores, siblings, Elud Ramirez, Lionel Ramirez, Quirino Ramirez Celia "Sally" Valderrama.
Our mother had 10 children. She is survived by her sons Higinio Flores III (Sally), Adan Ramirez Flores (Yolanda), Jose "Joe' Flores , Carlos Flores (Elva), Jimmy "Santiago' Flores (Gloria), Tomas "Tommy" Flores(Claudia), Jesus "Jesse" Flores (Olivia), Joseph Flores(Nancy) and two daughters Rosaura "Rose" Flores, and Margarita “Margie” Arevalo(Rick). Survived by siblings Jose “Guero” Ramirez and Betty Ramirez Solis. Consuelo was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother leaving behind 33 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren that will honor her legacy and life on this earth. She loved dancing and passing the time with embroidery.
The greatest gift mother gave in her life was her love of family. Displaying this amazing characteristic of living life to the fullest being displayed by all her adult children. We will honor her in our hearts and spirits until it is our turn to meet all our deceased in a place where there is no pain, no suffering, only the presence and essence of the Holy spirit whom waits on each and every one of us.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Santiago "Jay" Flores, Jeremy Flores, Mark Flores, Ricky Arevalo, Jacob Flores, Joe Louis Flores. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Flores and Tommy Lee Flores.
