Hermodea "Minnie" Huerta

"Hermodea “Minnie” Huerta age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 2, 2021 in Corpus Christi TX. She was born in Kingsville TX September 15, 1928 to Aniceto Hinojosa and Olivia Garcia Hinojosa .

She is preceded in death by both parents, her brothers Eloy Hinojosa and Roberto Elizalde, her husband David Huerta Sr. and sons Enrique Huerta and Danilo Huerta.

She is survived by her sons David Huerta Jr, Oakley CA, Ernesto Huerta (Isabel), Buda TX, Victor Huerta (Lisa) Corpus Christi TX, her siblings Bertha Basaldua and Marcia Gonzalez, many nieces and nephews, 14 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.

Minnie was a tirelessly devoted mother and was actively involved in her children’s school activities. She never drove but she would walk or take public transportation to be there. Crocket Elementary school staff and administration all knew her and appreciated her taking an interest in the school’s endeavors. Minnie began her working career at a five and dime store. She then worked at the CCAD. She held many positions at semi-conductor facilities before finally retiring from Frito Lay Company.

Minnie loved being a mother to five boys, gardening, playing bingo, occasional slot machine gaming and working puzzles. She was an avid reader and she loved sewing and quilting. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Hermodea will be held Monday, August 16, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A vigil service and rosary will occur Monday, August 16, 2021 at 7:00 PM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A chapel service will occur Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An interment will occur Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408.
