Petra G. Hernandez, age 84 passed away peacefully at home on the morning of June 29, 2021. She was born on February 23, 1937 to Jose and Luz Garcia in Petronila, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from Roy Miller High School. Petra enjoyed attending daily mass at Saint Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. She will always be remembered for her faithfulness to Jesus Christ, the love she had for her family, friends, and her bingo. She was happiest when all her entire family was gathered together. Our Dear Mother left us her legacy of faith and family unity. We rejoice as she enters and begins life anew in paradise. Mom’s faith and strength left a lasting impression on all those who knew her. Petra is preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto “Neto” Hernandez; parents, Jose and Luz Garcia; newborn daughter, Petra Hernandez; grandson, David Andrew Hernandez. She is survived by her children, Sandy De Leon, David Hernandez, Tina (Robert) Salazar; Grandchildren, Audree, Analisa, Anthony (Kayla), Alex (Vivian), Aaron, Brianna, and Isaiah; great-grandchildren, Makeila, Madelyn, Aurora, Jaden, Jacob, Christian, Isaac, Brayden, Matthew, and Elijah; Siblings, Cole (John) Cervantes, Juan (Irma) Garcia, Aurora (Abel) Chavana, Lisa Solis, Neto (Belinda) Garcia; And numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5 – 9 p.m. with The Holy Rosary to be Recited at 7:00 P.M. at Funeraria Del Angel-Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 3210 S.P.I.D., Corpus Christi, TX 78415 followed by burial at 11:30 a.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery, 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX 78408.
