February 25, 1942 ~ February 25, 2021 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Rodolfo Arturo "Rudy" Caceres, son of Arturo and Maria Librada Caceres, was born on February 25, 1942.  While surrounded by his loving family, he was called home to our Lord on February 25, 2021 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

He was a 1961 graduate of Roy Miller high School, a true Buccaneer-"Once a Buc always a Buc!".
He served in the United States Air Force for over four years. He returned home to continue his education and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Corpus Christi.  Rudy was a Corpus Christi police officer for thirty-two years.

During his career he was one of the organizers of CLEAT (Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas), a DARE officer and a Detective.  Working in community Relations, Rudy worked Crime Prevention and actively worked to build a better relationship between the police department and the community.  He also was in charge of security for CCISD sporting events for many years.

Although Rudy enjoyed his time as a police officer, he decided to retire from CCPD. After much thought and consideration, with the support of his family, he decided to run for Constable for Nueces County Precinct 1. He was elected and served three consecutive terms, which was a total of 12 years.

After serving his community he finally decided to retire in 2012. Outside of work he loved to dance, play golf, go fishing, hunting, traveling and gambling.  Rudy was a die hard Dallas Cowboy's fan but most of all loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.  Nothing could compete with the love he had for his family which was his most prized possession.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Dolores Gallardo Caceres, Children, Jeanette Aguas (Alex), Joseph Caceres (Samantha), Jo Ann Mata (Robert), and John Caceres (Kimberly), Siblings, Patsy Gonzalez (Valde), Armando Caceres (Gloria), Mary Ester Ceballos (Eloy) and sister-in-law Lydia Meza.
