Rosa Elva Lopez

Rosa Elva Lopez, age 81, passed away on September 14, 2022. Rosa was born on October 27, 1940 to Anastasio Martinez and Juanita Sanchez Martinez. Early in life, Rosa was employed as a Nursing Home Caretaker and then a Custodial Supervisor for many years before retiring.

Rosa enjoyed singing her favorite songs while driving, traveling the country, and spending time with her friends, family, and in particular, her grandchildren. She had a laugh that would brighten any room and immediately bring a smile to others' faces. Rosa will be remembered for her loving devotion to her family, and her faithful, tireless and selfless support of others. The matriarch of her family, Rosa was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved partner, Joe Salazar, and two children, Lupita Headen, Lete Lopez and granddaughter Olympia Sanchez.

Rosa is survived by her children, Janie Sanchez and Betty Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jose Lopez II (Linda Ramirez) of Orange Grove, Texas; her sister, Maria Lara of Nebraska ; her grandchildren, Alex Rios, Justin Sanchez, Tony Sanchez, Bert Ramirez (Mari), Adam Ramirez, Amanda Ramirez, Rebecca Perez (Mike), Christopher Headen and Matthew Headen (Desiree), all of Corpus Christi, Texas; Jose Lopez III (Aubrey) of Georgetown, Texas, and Star Ramirez of Orange Grove, Texas; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
